Founding President | PE, CCP, LEED AP
Alara Apcin has over 20 years of National and international construction experience with diverse roles and responsibilities in Federal and Private sectors.
She is a registered Mechanical Engineer and a Certified Commissioning Professional with Building Certification Commission Board.
Alara successfully worked with U.S. Armed Forces overseas and has been serving many Public and Private clients in Southern California with her sustainable Building Design, Consulting, and Commissioning services. She is actively involved in ASHRAE Technical Committees as a SME and a board member of SAME and NAWIC.
Janice K. Means
Senior Consultant | PE, LEED AP, FESD, FASHRAE
Janice K. Means, Professor Emeritus, has diverse experience in engineering consulting with Mechanical Systems, Electrical Systems, Advanced Lighting, Passive and Active Solar Energy Design as well as natural gas pipelines in her over 40 years of Engineering Consulting career.
She is an expert in energy standards, energy reduction, and sustainability. She is a trained presenter for the ANSI/ASHRAE/ IESNA Energy Standard 90.1, and serves on several international technical committees as a Subject Matter Expert.
Janice has extensive experience in Energy Audits and Indoor Air Quality.

Jim Newman is one of the country’s most experienced energy efficiency and green building professionals. He is known as The Dean of Green.
Jim is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP BD+C), an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer (DL), an Operations and Performance Management Professional (OPMP), and a Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP). Jim has been recognized by industry peers as a Fellow of ASHRAE.
